When your students sit down to a computer for the first time every year, they will need to change their passwords from the default set password.

The technology department resets passwords to a default password due to students not remembering their passwords from the previous year.

This helps create a better experience for the student and teacher.

  1. The student will first turn on the computer.
  2. Next, when the "Clock screen/Scenery screen" comes up have the student press the space bar to show the next prompt.
  3. The next prompt should be the Student handbook computer use policy. Have the student read it and then click OK.
  4. In the Username box have the student type in their Student/Lunch number.
  5. In the password box have the student type rockwood. All lowercase.
  6. The computer will then prompt the student to change their password.
  7. It will now show RASD\<username> and some password prompts.
  8. The current password should already be filled in the "Old Password" box.
  9. In the "New password" box put the new password and again in the "Confirm password" section.
  10. The only requirements is password length must be longer than 3 letters long

*It is possible that the student account has not yet been created or is disable. If it is a new student please submit a ticket to the Helpdesk and we will get the account ready for the student.

***Important***

Grade 4-12 --> All students will log in with their student # and the password of "rockwood" for the first time when logging in. They will then be asked to set a unique password.

Grade 3 --> students will still use their student # to log in, but they use the grade level password of "rockwood" (doesn't change)

Grades K-2 --> will continue to login as they have in the past with "student" and password of "rockwood" and will not need to do this password change.
